By Car

From the South

  1. Take I-95 North to 295 N past Portland and take exit 28 for Rt 1 North.
  2. Follow Rt 1 North for about an hour through Brunswick, Bath, Wiscasset, and Waldoboro, into Warren where you will see Rt 90 on your left. Take a left onto Rt 90. This road bypasses Rockland and spits you out onto Rt 1 just South of Camden. (If you want to drive through Rockland, just remain on Rt 1.)
  3. Follow Rt 90 to Rt 1. In Rockport, turn left onto Rt 1 North. (If you decided to stay on Rt 1 in step 2, ignore this instruction.)
  4. You will drive directly through downtown Camden and up a slight hill to Atlantic Avenue and the library on your right. Turn right onto Atlantic Avenue and park anywhere along this road. The French is docked at the bottom of the park on your right at the head of the harbor. Come on down! We'll help you get your gear aboard, show you your cabin and orient you to the vessel.

Alternate Directions

  1. If you want to bypass Rt 1 and the possible traffic jams (of which there are many in the summer months), remain on I-95 North to Augusta and take exit 109 for Rt 17 East.
  2. Follow the signs closely through the rotaries. They can be confusing, (yet fun). Stay on Rt 17 all the way to Rockport, to the traffic light at Rt 90.
  3. Turn Left onto Rt 90 and proceed to the traffic light at Rt 1.
  4. Follow Rt 90 to Rt 1. In Rockport, turn left onto Rt 1 North.

Mileage on this alternate route is longer, but driving time may be quicker.
